That asshole! That complete and total asshole! Really? He towed my car! Is this really happening? No matter what I do or how hard I work I can’t get ahead. And now I don’t have my van. My shitty van that at least got us where we needed to go! What in the hell am I supposed to do now? It wasn’t even parked in front of his stupid restaurant! It was further out and not there for very long! Ughhh!

(She breaks)

I’ve prayed and I’ve worked, and I’m just…exhausted. I know I had to get the kids out of that abusive situation, but what are we supposed to do now? I don’t think I can do this. I mean, it was hard enough just getting them out the door on time. They’re so upset and just…not settled, and I don’t know what to do. So, I finally get them out the door, and am almost to work when my clutch just falls off! Just falls off into the floorboard. I mean, I’m sitting at a red light running a list of all the bills I can’t pay and trying to think of what to do, and then my stupid clutch is between my feet! I pulled over with just enough time to get the car situated and get a ride to work.

I called the restaurant several times today, and no one picked up. And now, that hairy manager towed my car. I know I shouldn’t be this upset. The kids are watching, but I swear I can’t take anymore. I’m going to go tell him exactly what I think of him.

(She yanks open the front door of the restaurant)

Sir! Sir! Are you the manager? Well, thank you. Thank you so much, Mr. Manager. That was my van you had towed today, and now I have no way of getting to work or getting my kids to school. Thanks for helping out a single mom who is just trying to survive.

(She closes the door and goes back outside when her friend basically drags her out)

I’m glad you pulled me out of there. All I can remember is that hairy chest. What kind of a manager lets that hairy chest hang out in a restaurant.

(She laughs a little)

I’m sure everyone thought I was nuts. But seriously? What am I going to do? I mean, I know something will work out, but I’m at the end of my rope here. I don’t know how much more of this working three jobs and still not being able to make it I’m going to be able to take. I’m falling apart.
